Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Financial equity is a right, not a privilege. Our 2025 Annual Membership Meeting will elevate our ongoing efforts to create economic opportunity for members from all backgrounds and walks of life. DC Credit Union was born from a need to offer access to financial services, specifically credit, for African Americans in the 1950s. Over 71 years later, we continue to work toward our vision of economic justice for the financially underserved.
Without equitable access to financial services, we cannot have an equitable economy. Our areas of focus include:
- Human Talent: We are committed to ensuring that our staff is representative of the people we serve
- Products/Services: We focus on equitable lending practices and innovative products that can help families stay in their homes and build/transfer wealth.
- Community Collaboration & Engagement: This includes outreach to the LGBTQ community, financial education for youth and young adults, and building awareness around predatory lending practices.
